Walthers 948-9010 is a 5-pack of HO scale double-track foam roadbed — pre-shaped sections, each 36" (91.4cm) long, designed to support two parallel tracks for a prototypical mainline double-track look. Made from dense, closed-cell foam that matches standard HO cork roadbed dimensions, this roadbed quiets train running noise, lifts the mainline above the surrounding scenery, and provides a smooth, ready-to-paint surface for ballast.

FAQ
Will this work with cork roadbed I already have on my layout?Yes. Walthers foam roadbed is dimensionally compatible with standard HO cork roadbed, so you can transition between the two with just a small bevel where they meet.
Do I need to glue the roadbed down before laying track? Most modelers glue the foam roadbed to the benchwork with foam-safe latex caulk or white glue, then lay track on top with track nails or more glue. The foam will accept either nails or adhesive directly.
What track spacing does this support? The double-track profile is sized for HO scale double-track mainline spacing (typically 2" between track centerlines), matching prototype practice. You can use it with Walthers Code 83/100 flex track, Atlas, Bachmann, or any standard HO track.
How much double-track mainline can 5 pieces cover?Five 36" sections give you 15 feet of double-track base — enough for a meaningful double-track loop on a 4'×8' or larger layout, or a long mainline run in a shelf-style around-the-room layout.
